Up for ebaY bids today is a hand-made
MiKelman reproduction of a vintage
1960's Japan era Barbie-sized
graduated
pearl strand necklace.
This auction is for a repro necklace only.
No doll or clothing is included in this sale.
Upon considerable research, it
was discovered that vintage
Barbie's graduated pearl necklaces
were available in a variety of
lengths and patinas.
This is the large version available
in a whitest white faux pearl
finish, with hand turned silver-tone metal
findings that echoes
the hook & loop clasp/closure
of Barbie's original 1960's
vintage Japan necklace, minus
corrosion to the metal clasp &
chips to the faux pearl finish!

THE FINE PRINT:
As with vintage Japan era Barbie doll's
original necklaces,
DO BE SURE NOT TO let the
metal findings
of this jewelry rest against
any part of Barbie's vinyl head, as discoloration
might result.
In other words, do not place the necklace
on the doll and say, store her upside down with the
metal fittings touching Barbie's vinyl head, lol!
If displayed in a typical or usual upright manner, the metal
parts of this necklace will not harm vintage
Japan Barbie doll's torso.
It has been my experience that silver-tone metals do not cause
the dreaded "greening" associated with vintage Japan Barbie era
dolls, as a brass (copper & tin) has been discovered as the culprit of
"green ear", but to be safe rather than sorry, it is a best practice not
to let metal come in contact with vintage era Barbie doll's head.
